Every man wants to be a good husband and father. Chris Hartenstein was no different and worked hard to be intentional, present, and generous with his family. After a tumultuous chapter in his family's story, God gave Chris the vision for TNF. Struggling to father well at the time, Chris encountered the heart of his heavenly Dad in a way he had never experienced, and it changed his life and the trajectory of his family forever. He stepped into the next chapter with a purpose in mind - to help men become whole-hearted sons and then fathers through encountering God's fathering heart. In 2012, TNF became a reality when we held our first father/son trip to Montana. Ten years later, Chris and his family still pursue that vision, and they love seeing fathers' hearts come alive for their families!

We are all on a journey called Life, and often, it feels uncertain, dangerous, and confusing. Life is full of questions we are trying to answer: who do I marry? What is my career? Where do I go to college? How do I love my family well? The list is endless. But all of these questions can be answered once we satisfy four core, heart questions every person asks on their journey:

• Identity - Who am I? 
• Mission - Why am I here?
• Community - Where do I belong?
• Code - How do I live this life?

How we answer these questions determines our Life's direction and, ultimately, our destination.

The Heroic Journey is a multi-month process designed for men and their sons who are 13-16 years old. Over the course of eight months, you will help your son discover God’s intentions for manhood and show him a path that leads to a purposeful life rooted in identity as God’s beloved son.

This Advanced Adventure is designed for men and their sons who are 17-24 years old. You will help your son craft a vision for purposeful Christian living after high school, into college, and beyond. Help him begin to discover his identity-informed mission, created purpose, and God-given glory as he looks toward a career, marriage, and family.

The Mighty Men Adventure is an annual men’s (21 and up) trip. Over eight days, men step into intimacy with God and explore their stories through the lens of beloved sonship. The experience takes place in a highly relational environment where men can step into their identity and story with confidence and community.

We would love to have you volunteer with us! We facilitate between 5 - 7 trips throughout the year, offering opportunities in our Heroic Journey, Advanced Journey, and Mighty Men Montana trips. On our trips, you have the chance to serve in our kitchen, help lead trail hikes, facilitate huddles after teachings, and help mesh participants through activities like Catan and Ultimate Frisbee.
